EARNING AN ONLINE DIGITAL BADGE

RESUME-SPIKING VOLUNTEER AND SHADOWING DIGITAL BADGES

Busy students who volunteer have many reasons to be proud of their impact. For example, volunteering may be the first time students can show the world what they can do with what they learn. And trust us, it’s impressive. And now, high school and college volunteers can showcase their contributions on Linkedin, a network known to all college admissions deans and employers. VolunteerCrowd’s new online digital badging program allows qualifying students the opportunity to share their verified volunteer and job shadowing credentials on LinkedIn, alongside their diplomas and degrees. Boost your resume by adding a volunteer or job shadowing certification to your Linkedin profile that gets you noticed by college admissions offices and future employers.

WHAT DOES AN ONLINE DIGITAL BADGE LOOK LIKE?

Certified online badges showcase areas where students dedicate significant time supporting. Currently, VolunteerCrowd awards badges for 21 cause areas. Students earn badges at three different levels – 50 hours, 100 hours, and 200 hours. Each badge distinguishes a new milestone. For example, aspiring teachers may serve over 100 hours tutoring, working as classroom volunteer, or helping homeless students who have fallen behind. Similarly, pre-health students may shadow doctors and nurses to learn about different medical specialties. In short earning a volunteer badge signals to colleges and employers that students are invested their future college major or career track.
