Teen Animal Shelter Volunteer

Teen Animal Shelter Volunteers

Paws from the pandemic to furry friends

Good news: Animal adoptions are on the rise as families welcome new members during the quarantine. Even better news: Thus summer students can volunteer to help other animals waiting for their forever homes. Just like animals come in all shapes and sizes, so do VolunteerCrowd’s shelter and rescue volunteer opportunities. Trott horse back and forth to support therapeutic lessons. Promote the cause of animal rights as a high school social media volunteer. Raise a puppy on behalf of kids living with autism. See our many creature community service projects.

18+ Year Pug Rescue Volunteer

Are you a pug-lover … possibly even a pugaholic? You are not alone. There are many others crazy for pugs. College student volunteers, and 18 year old high schoolers, make great contributions serving lovable pugs. And, they not only save the organization money but time. Time to get many important things done and make sure no pug is left behind. DFW Pug rescue is run by folks who generously give their time, homes, and hearts to help. We need volunteers in a variety of areas, including, but not limited to: events, fostering, transportation, social media, newsletter, and marketing.

Social Media Volunteer For Animal Rights

Are you considering a marketing or communications major? Build skills today by marketing for a good cause. Students who love social media and are concerned about animal rights can volunteer with Sentient Media to get animal-based news into the public eye. Students can make an impact by creating and sharing meaningful content across the organization’s social platforms. Throughout this volunteer program, you will learn about social media, the animal rights movement, and the power of online advocacy. Be a part of something great!

Student Volunteer – Animal Sanctuary

Are you thinking about going to veterinarian school or studying animal sciences? Or maybe you love horses. Tween and teen volunteers can earn community service hours and help make a difference by serving others when you volunteer at HorsePower for Kids in Tampa, Florida. Volunteers are the backbone of HorsePower for Kids! The volunteer program is responsible for the everyday operation of the farm. And horses love the attention! Students help with feeding, animal care, cleaning, administration, and daily on-site assistance.

Teen Volunteer at County Humane Society

Students ages 14 and above will have an incredible experience when volunteering with Fayette County Humane Society (FHS). Whether you’re working our Adoption Days, driving foster pets to/from vet appointments, supporting community and feral cats, or letting a homeless animal stay at your place for a bit, our rescue centers around helping to END PET OVERPOPULATION. Whatever your skills and however long you want to volunteer, you can help the local humane society with all kinds of different projects and support functions to help cats and dogs in the community.

Teen Volunteer – Raise A Puppy!

This is a puppy raising program that provides a unique opportunity for teens to assist Good Dogs…very good dogs, who are also providing a support. Trained Good Dogs help children and families living with autism. As a volunteer puppy raiser, you will provide a puppy with a safe home, take them to obedience classes, feed them a healthy diet, socialize them and give them lots of love. Your dedication will benefit another family for years to come and lead to lasting memories for you and the families that adopt the Good Dogs.

Animal Shelter Supply Drive

The great thing about becoming an animal volunteer is that there are so many ways to help animals: Adopt, foster, volunteer, or in this case, send Lignetics wood pellet fuel. As random as that sounds, it’s really important to the animals. If you are feeling less adventurous, the shelter can also use cat carriers, pooper scoopers, and basic office supplies. Most of these items are easy to find on Amazon. The Kootenai Humane Society, in Hayden ID, appreciates student leaders who organize supply drives for these much-needed items.

Horseback Riding Volunteers – 14+

We have a volunteer project for students who seek leadership opportunities. Lesson volunteers work directly with instructors, therapists, and staff members assisting before, during, and after a rider’s lesson. Students train to become side walkers and leaders. Each member of the volunteer team has a specific responsibility. They are working directly with the rider. Sidewalkers are a helpful extension of the instructor, giving encouragement and physical support. Working directly with the horse, leaders groom, tack, and lead the horse at the walk and trot throughout the lesson.
